Step 2: Then, grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Step 3: In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Step 4: In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add in the eggs one at a time, beating every after each addition.
Step 5: Slowly mix in the flour mixture into the butter mixture, then, stir in the chocolate chips.
Step 6: Spoon half of the cookie dough into the prepared pan and spread.
Step 7: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 8 to 10 minutes.
Step 8: Meanwhile, in a double boiler, melt the caramels with the evaporated milk. Once the caramels are melted, add in the peanut butter and thoroughly melt.
Step 9: Remove the cookie dough from the oven. Spoon the caramel mixture on top of the dough and spread.
Step 10: Drop by spoonfuls the rest of the cookie dough over the caramel mixture.
Step 11: Put it back in the oven and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
