Homemade Mozzarella Sticks are a deliciously ooey-gooey snack that’s easy to prepare. This recipe’s trick is to freeze them before frying them.

The ooey-gooey stretchiness of a mozzarella stick has always appealed to me, and I confess that frozen boxes of pre-made mozzarella sticks were a common sight in my childhood. It turns out that they’re pretty simple to make at home, and they taste much better when they’re new.

When producing them, there are a few items to keep in mind; they should first be breaded twice to ensure a dense enough shell to hold the cheese inside. Another point to remember is to freeze them for at least two hours before frying them because the cheese can ooze out of the shell, which isn’t pleasant.

The advantage is that you can prepare these ahead of time and ice them, then fried them when you’re ready to eat.

INGREDIENTS:

2 large Pkg.Of 16-ounces of mozzarella sticks.

4 extra-large eggs, slightly beaten.

1½ Cups.Of vegetable oil.

1½ Cups.Of dry Italian breadcrumbs.

1â…“ Cups. Of freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided

1 small spoon.Of salt.

AND THIS IS HOW TO MAKE THEM STEP BY STEP:

Step 1:

I combined the bread crumbs, with 1 cup of Parmesan cheese, and salt in a big mixing dish.

Step 2:

After that, I cut each mozzarella stick Into halves.

Step 3:

Next, In a shallow dish, I beat the eggs and cover the cheese sticks entirely, allowing the excess egg to drip back into the cup.

Step 4:

And I coated the cheese full in the breadcrumb paste, tapping it to stick.

Step 5:

At this step, I dipped the cheese sticks in the egg and breadcrumb mixture a second time to coat them.

Step 6:

Then, I placed the cheese sticks on a baking sheet, covered with plastic wrap, and froze for 2 hours.

Step 7:

In a big skillet, I melted the oil over medium heat, and I fried the cheese until golden brown in pans, around 1 minute per side.

Step 8:

And finally, I placed the fried cheese on bowls and served with the leftover cheese on top.

These sticks are one of the most requested in all my gathering days, everyone loves them, and no one can resist them!!! Especially when they are served with dipping sauces and ketchup, they are dangerously delicious!!! I hope that you’ll try them soon and if you’re searching for more recipes like this one take a look at the related posts below!
