This recipe is very similar tasting to the country style steak at K&W Cafeteria style restaurants. I use Uncle Ben’s boil in bag rice with this as it tastes almost the same as K&W, but mine may be a little better, if I do say so myself! 😉

Cook time: 2 Hr | Prep time: 15 Min | Serves: 4

Ingredients

1 lb cube steaks
1 c flour
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 c vegetable or canola oil
2 can(s) (14.5 oz.) beef broth

Directions

1. Combine flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder in a shallow dish.

2. dredge cube steak in flour mixture, coating evenly. reserve 1/4 cup leftover flour.

3. brown cube steaks in hot oil over medium high heat about 4 minutes on each side. Remove steaks to a 9×13 baking dish.

4. add reserved flour mixture to pan drippings to make a flour paste. Add more oil or flour if necessary. Pour broth into pan and stir until smooth and thickened. Pour gravy over meat.

5. Cover pan with foil and bake in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours. Serve with hot cooked rice or mashed potatoes.
