This is just a good, hearty comfort food kind of meal. Always filling and satisfying for my family.
Cook time: 25 Min Prep time: 10 Min Serves: 4-5
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp my house seasoning (equal parts garlic powder, onion powder and pepper…combine and store in an airtight container)
10 oz can diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
3 c chopped cabbage
10 oz beef broth
1 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over med. high heat and drain off the grease. Add the onion, bell pepper, garlic, worcestershire and house seasoning. Combine well. Add the tomatoes and broth, stir and then add in the cabbage. Cover and reduce the heat to medium and cook until the cabbage is tender but not mushy, about 20-25 minutes. Uncover and stir in the cheese, cook until the cheese is melted. Serve over rice if desired.
